UTM Builder & Tags

Clean, consistent campaign tracking — without ever hand-editing a URL. Add UTM parameters, save them as reusable presets, and organize your links with your own tags. It all flows straight into your analytics, so every click and every dollar lands under the right campaign.

No more copy-pasting query strings, no more typos that split one campaign into five, no more guessing which channel actually drove the sale.

Three tools, one clean workflow

  • UTM Builder

Fill in source, medium, campaign, and more in simple fields. GoByte assembles a correct, consistently formatted tracking URL for you — no manual query strings, no encoding mistakes.

  • Presets

Save a set of UTM values once and reuse it across every link. Your whole team tags campaigns the same way, every time — so your reports stay clean instead of fragmenting on a stray capital letter.

  • Tags

Label links with your own tags — by client, channel, product, or launch. Filter and group by tag in your dashboard to find any set of links in seconds.

  1. Create or edit a link — from the dashboard (New Link) or the API.
  2. Open the UTM section and fill in the fields you want to track: source, medium, and campaign at minimum.
  3. Apply a preset (optional) to drop in a saved set of values instantly — or save your current values as a new preset for next time.
  4. Add your own tags to organize the link — for example q3-launch, client-acme, or newsletter.
  5. Save. Your short link now carries clean UTM parameters, and every click is attributed in your analytics automatically.

Save presets for recurring campaigns

If you run the same channels every month, save one preset per channel (e.g. Newsletter, Instagram, Paid Search). Applying a preset is one click and guarantees everyone on your team tags identically. Shared presets and team-wide tagging are available on paid plans — see the pricing page for what's included on each tier.

The UTM fields

Each parameter answers a different question about where a click came from. Fill in as many as you need — the first three are the essentials.

Field Answers Example
Source Where the traffic came from newsletter, instagram, google
Medium The type of channel email, social, cpc, referral
Campaign The specific initiative summer-sale, q3-launch
Term The paid keyword you bid on running-shoes
Content Which creative or link variant hero-cta, footer-link

Keep it lowercase and consistent

Summer_Sale and summer-sale count as two different campaigns in any analytics tool. Presets exist precisely so you never have to remember the exact spelling — set it once and reuse it.

Use cases

  • Multi-channel campaigns

Launching across email, social, and paid ads at once? Give each channel its own source and medium, share a single campaign name, and see exactly which channel drove clicks, conversions, and revenue — side by side.

  • Agency reporting

Tag every link by client and campaign, apply a shared preset per client, and pull a clean, per-client breakdown at reporting time. No spreadsheets, no reconciling mismatched labels across your team.
